## Questions

What file types can I compress? Minifier accepts MP4, MOV, WebM, GIF, and WebP uploads. MP4, MOV, and WebM can be output as MP4 or WebM; GIF and WebP can be output as GIF, WebP, or MP4.

How large or long can a file be? Without an account, uploads are limited to 32 MiB and videos to three minutes. Signed-in videos can be up to 500 MiB with no duration limit; GIF and WebP uploads remain limited to 32 MiB. Media over 40 megapixels is rejected.

How long do result links work? Anonymous jobs and files expire 15 minutes after upload. Signed-in account results expire 15 minutes after processing finishes.

What happens to my original file? The uploaded file is removed when processing finishes or fails. Anonymous results expire 15 minutes after upload; signed-in account results expire 15 minutes after processing finishes.

Can the encoder access my file over the network? The FFmpeg worker runs in a separate container with network access disabled. The API removes filenames and file contents from analytics events.

## How it works

You drop in a video or GIF, and we re-encode it with one fixed FFmpeg command. No sliders, no settings to second-guess. You get a smaller file that starts playing right away .

For an MP4 or MOV, it looks like this:

Under the hood

```
```

Hover a part of the command to see what it does.

We delete the uploaded original when processing ends. Anonymous results expire 15 minutes after upload; signed-in account results expire 15 minutes after processing finishes.

The encoder runs in its own container with no network, on [mosa.sh](https://mosa.sh), our small self-hosted platform. Our analytics never see filenames or what's inside your files.
